New Owner Mercedes Me remote start
I recently purchased a low mile 2012 ML550 (14000 miles). I am new to Mercedes and would love to know any thing I could look for(upgrades, maintenance, ect). My main question is should I take my vehicle to the dealership to re-activate the mbrace system so that I can use Mercedes Me to remotely lock unlock the car and maybe remotely start it. I wanted to know if this service is really worth it or I would be wasting my money. Thanks for any help and I am glad to join the community.

I can't believe you don't have remote lock. But I doubt you could get the remote start. I'd love to get it as well.

And then what? Would you be able to remote-start afterwards? On my 2013, the fob doesn't even have a start symbol?

A bit off kilter here.... if you have purchased your pre-owned MB from Private Buyer or a non-MB Dealer...
1. With VIN# - 1st call MB Roadside Assist at the tel# on the Driver Visor Inside Mirror yes - make sure you update Owner's Info with them - and check to see if there is any free Mercedes Roadside Assistance on your MB. Please understand $150-$200+ in paid Mercedes dealer service gets you 18 months free Mercedes Roadside Assistance from that point - which renews/extends another 18 months from next time you have you qualified dealer service.
2. After updating ownership with Mercedes Roadside Assistance - THEN use "i" button to contact MBrace - to check what free and/or paid MBrace Services are available for your MB.
3. Mercedes ME is a app anyone can download for their MB with a MBrace acct but what features that are available to you thru the app are dependent on what yr/model MB you have.
4. Any recent model MB from like about 2011/202 (depending on model) can be aftermarket upgrade to either key-fob-remote-start (about 300ft) or key-fob-remote-start/with-added-Smartphone-remote start - MidCity or Viper are good places to start
