Cancel extended warranty ML350 - 2015
I purchased the extended warranty through the dealership when I bought the vehicle. I don't put that much mileage in the vehicle. Now it's 3 years and 4 months and I have under 17,500 miles. I bough the 7 year, 70k extended warranty for around $2300. Considering my usage I probably wont get 75k in the next 3.5 years. So should I just cancel the extended warranty or keep it for peace of mind? Couple of occasions I had issues with the computer system that when I turned the ignition on, all lights turned on in the display panel and the engine wont start. Did couple of on-offs and waited few minutes- fixed the issue. Took it to dealership, they tested everything, no issues found. This happened last year. Other than that no issues so far.
Should I save the $2700 or leave it for future problems?

A member on this site recently posted "Every repair on these vehicles starts at $1000." Truer words were never spoken. Consider your warranty as a piece of mind and an extra selling point if/when you decide to sell.
Oh, and if you have a Bluetec, then the above counts even more.

2013 ML350
I was in a similar situation. a few months ago I bought a well taken care of 2013 ML350 from a Dealer south of San Francisco. The car had 39,5XX miles on it and was owned by 2 people, both in a lease deal. I had a record of every service the car ever had. I was presented with the option to purchase a 3 year warranty agreement, for $4,850 underwritten by a firm in Florida. I pondered this purchase for a few weeks after purchase. After really thinking about this, I realized in my 40 years of driving cars, this warranty wouldn't have ever been used for any situation I ever previously had. I did call the sales manager and initiated the forms necessary to cancel this. It took about 3 weeks, but the $4,850 was taken off the loan I have with MBFS. I know you need to decide for yourself, but I figured, after studying the contract of what WAS and what WASN'T covered that I'd self insure this risk. 3 years goes by fast, I don't put too many miles on it, maybe 6,000 a year.
I have a similar question about the Maintenance Package I bought... I will ask for advice in the forum.
Best,
H

MB’s
Depends. I mean you have a 2015 and that is a last year model. Also, a gas 350 with no airmatic for the most part is a basic car. Assuming you do not drive a ton of miles and treat the ML good I would say cancel the warranty. If you drive many miles maybe keep it. I look at it as you bought the warranty already so why not keep it?

Fyi I bought a 13 ML 350 Bluetec that was a certified used car fron MB with about 40,000 miles from a dealer.
it had all the services done and was a 10 out of 10 in condition.
i paid $2300 for the extended warranty, first time i ever did this.
The warranty company has paid over $30,000 in repairs so far.
Two transmissions in 3000 miles, struts, ad blue heater , soot sensors, radar sensors, many other electronic parts for every system know to man.
i have had 7 other MB products , 2 still in the driveway with no issues at all

The ELW on my W204 paid for itself the a year after the new car warranty expired. Almost 15k worth of repairs was done. After the 3rd year of the ELW almost 23k in total of repairs was done in the car. Most of the very expensive components you can think of broke and was replaced so it looks like I drive a almost new car. So on my '14 ML350 we bought the same thing and just a few months ago the front suspension bags were replaced and just right there the ELW paid for itself.

The first transmission would clunk and shift hard on downshift
also it would search for gears on the lower range from take off.
They replaced the brains sort of speaking of the trans before they did the replacement
They sent alot of data to Germany to try to fix this issue
The 2 nd one would not respond to acceleration on the highway at times unless I floored it, and wouldn’t accelerate from a stop for a second or two at times.
i mentioned that to the dealer in Canada before I went south, and they said that the trans needed to learn my driving habits for 2500 miles?
On the way to Fla it acted up sp I took it in to a daaler here who found some codes for the torque converter.
This was $6600 cdn which I had to pay and I am waiting now over 3 weeks for my money to come
I think its a joke that the Us and Canada cant work together
Also I hit a deer last year and MB roadside assistance would Not call me a tow truck, they dont do accidents.
Not what I a high end Car company should be like in my opinion
This is the most troublesome vehicle I have ever owned .
This is my last MB product.

I don't post on this Forum as I'm a new W166 (2012 ML 350 Gas) and don't know much about them but after around 10 Mercedes I wouldn't drive anything else, regardless of the operating costs of the ML.
In a past life I owned an Insurance Agency (like Haggertey's) and one job you get to do is deal with the relatives of clients who died in accidents. No fun at all.
There's was only one brand of luxury car where we never had to deal with relatives in 19 years of running the business, and that was Mercedes.
We purchased our first Benz, a stolen and recovered W126, when we were having our first child on the basis we were going to survive the big accident that could lay ahead.
The accident didn't come but we now have 3 Mercedes on our driveway and will always at have one regardless of operating costs.
None will ever be a Diesel!
