OEM GL X164 Rims on a ML 166

Hi there.

I bought some OEM 18" W164 ML rims with winter tires from a 2008 CDI and tried to mount them on my 2013 W166 Bluetec (currently OEM 19"'s) didn't clear the caliper - it would rub. Everything I read says it would work. Nonetheless, I'll need to see these.

Would 19" OEM GL X164 rims work? It only make sense. For some reason, there are a lot of OEM GL rims where I live, not may ML's used.

Thanks,
Jimmy

Theoretically, but you need more information.

If you have the AMG sport appearance package it will not fit. Smallest is 19" as the front calipers and rotors are big.

Is there a perfect accurate 18" fit for 2013 W166 Bluetec

Same issue with me. Where I live I cant find any W166 rims. Most are 18" . Will 18" not fit inspite of all matches : Width (mostly common 18 x 8.5J), bolt pattern (which is common 5 x 112), Offset and center bore, ? Can we downsize for W166 to 18" (only for winters)

I ended up getting some 19” GL X164 rims. They worked without issue.

Thank you, So I guess we can conclude that downsizing to 18" will not clear the caliper atleast on w166.

I have no problem with my 18inch. Check out my thread if you want to put 18 inch on your w166
