Purchased used 2014 ML350 2wd with 48k. Listened to the consumer drone not to purchase an aftermarket warranty from the auto broker (non-MB) at about $3K. and went shopping. Carchex (coverage actually American Autoshield) and Endurance both are about $5K. WTF! Way more than the supposed savings by buying myself. Carchex said Endurance is not BBB rated anymore. American Autoshield by itself has pretty mediocre reviews. 2nd MB. Owned a 2006 C230 until inattentive driver decided to rear end it and totalled it. Had MB warranty back then and say it wasn't more than $2k to go to 100k miles and was worth it. 5K is 25% of what I bought it for. Buying the base, avoiding 4wd and diesel, should I just save that money and pay when the eventual happens. I am DIY kind of guy so the usual repairs I do myself.
