2013 W166 - strong ammonia smell
I have a very strong ammonia smell coming from the car. I only notice it when the car is idle - such as parking the car in the garage, then exiting. It's blowing a thick white smoke from the driver side. The strong is overwhelming.
I've read Ad Blue Temp Sensor, Nox Sensors etc.
On a side note, I'm in Canada and received a voluntary warranty extension re: soot particulate sensor. Big words that mean nothing to me.
Does anyone know what's going on? Is the issue related to the voluntary warranty extension?
My SUV is a 2013 W166 Bluetec with 153,000 km.

What part of Canada are you located in?
I've experienced the same issues last fall when the outside temperatures dropped down.
The heater went bad and I was losing DEF fluid, also my EGR valve got stuck.
Solved by deleting EGR, DEF, and swirl motors.

I had this done one year already and everything works just fine, plus I did stage 2 tune up, and the car is flying.
I could live with all these ecological stuff, and to be honest, I was trying to fix the Adblue heater, however, when my car when in limp mode (which is ok for me to drive in order to get the car to the shop, the car won't accelerate and drive fast but I don't need it at that point) while I was driving 120 on a highway, moreover, in 5 mins of driving in a limp mode all the systems went down, I saw all the lights on the dashboard, the steering wheel went stiff, and the car shuts off in the middle of a highway!!!, I managed somehow to pull over to the right, scanned the codes and Ive got a few codes related to some ecological stuff (sorry, forgot the numbers). After this incident, I decided to delete everything.
