2012 ML-350
Broken rear passenger door handle
I have a 2012 ML350. I cannot open the rear passenger door from the outside. Inside handle works fine. Has anyone had this happen and found out how to fix? I’ve found threads about taking off the door panel… but will that even get me access to the handle parts? Any help would be appreciated.

yes, take the door card off and check visually. How is an online forum supposed to help when you haven't inspected the visual mechanical components?

You need to diagnose it. Outside handle comes off via rubber plug in door shut face. Door panel (card) comes off to reveal door innards.

You need to get into it and see what is happening. Search feature on this site and YouTube will help.

No.. I never did get it fixed. Wound up trading the car in. Otherwise, I was planning on taking the door apart and seeing if something could’ve been JB Welded to avoid replacing the entire handle. Good luck. Hope you are able to fix yours.

Thanks for replying. This happened once before and the MB service manager fixed it while I was dropping off the car for service. Thought maybe someone learned the trick. Guess i'm going to the dealer!
