Hey everybody - First time posting, long time user here.
Want to ask if you've seen a decrease in fuel efficiency after the field measures? Before the update MY12 GL350 with 200K used to do 9L/100Km HW and even 8.5L/100KM if kept below 110Km/hr.
After the field measures I noticed that is not as easy to get to 9L/100KM. I'd have to be nice to the car (which I am not all the time) to get down to 9?
Did anybody experience the same decrease in fuel efficiency? MB said in the settlement it shouldn't be impacted but I am not getting this feeling after 1yr.
I do a lot of HWY driving clocking 30K last year.
I even got the timing chain done under warranty and paid 400 to get the oil cooler seals replaced while they had the engine open.
This is my second OM642 (previous was a 07 R320 CDI which I loved until the engine seized with 350K).

I have a 2013 ML350 Bluetec sitting at 306 000km and I didn't notice any significant difference regarding fuel economy. The only differences that I've noticed are longer crank time when starting the engine and the engine seems to be running hotter than before the field measure. The DPF regens also seem to different/more noticeable with the smell and heat emitting from underneath the vehicle. What's the mileage on your GL?

Mine is a GL350 with the OM642, not the GLK
I do agree about hotter regens but my crank time is just fine, that did not change.
I also noted some oil consumption which did not happen before the field measure and I am monitoring closely. No external leaks and since is still cold I have not done any inspection yet. I know the turbo was replaced with a remanufactured unit during the field measures, not sure if this could be the cause.
I have to say that I am less than impressed with the customer service at Star Motors in Ottawa is quite bad. After the timing chain was done they left without clamps the fuel line out of the filter and the coolant line, they forgot to crimp them back after priming the system.

Yes I just reread your post and saw GL. For some reason I saw GLK the first time I read it. I apologize it's been a long day. I edited my post.

No oil consumption on my ML350 BT. My oil cooler seals are slightly leaking (very minimal) so I'm not paying 3k to fix it. The leak is so minimal that I don't even have to top off my oil between my 10k km OCI. Funny you mention Star Motors of Ottawa, I also had a very bad experience with them. I did my field measure there and told them my oil cooler seals were leaking and that I was willing to pay to have them changed since the motor is already opened. They did the field measure and assembled everything back. When I asked them about the oil cooler seals they said "Ops we forgot". Then, when I picked up my suv after the field measure was done, they gave me an estime of 3k to change them. I lol'ed and walked out. I wish I could do this job myself, but I don't feel comfortable doing it. Saving 2500$ in labour would be really nice.

The seals is lengthy and messy but is pretty much a disassembly and assembly type of job. IDParts sells the entire kit of bolts and gaskets required.
