Passenger door issue
Hi everyone, I'm a new member, just picked up my 2012 ML350 bluetec a week ago. I knew that the oil cooler was leaking and just had it repaired. Onto my issue 😀
when I unlock the doors using the fob or the inside button, all the pins pop up but the front passenger door doesn't open from the outside. Once opened from inside, it works fine until i lock it. It seems like the central locking mechanism doesn't unlock the outside handle somehow. Did anyone encounter a similar issue? If so, any idea what could be wrong?
I searched online, read about the actuator but it doesn't seems like the same issue.

Edit: rephrased a sentence to better explain the issue and specified the door position.

Re read problem
So after re reading, are the pins all coming same height as the working doors in unlocked position? Measure the exposed pin to make sure they are all the same height. Try unlocking a few times and opening the door from outside.

Ok, I tested a couple of things:
measured the height and compared it with the driver door, both are popping to the same height.
I also tried to pull the pin further up manually and tried opening it from outside, it didn't work.
I'll pull the door panel this weekend to see how the actuator is connected to the outside handle and if something isn't connected correctly.

Saw the video already but my understanding is that only fixes the pin not coming up or going down. The pins work fine on mine. I'll try to find online a drawing or schematics on how the locking mechanism is connected to the outside handle itself.

Update:
finally we had some decent weather so I could pull the door panel. Removed the panel, watched some videos on how to remove the inner panel
once the inner door assembly with the outside handle were off, I decide to test it again since nothing seemed out of order. Used a screw driver to to lock the latch, pushed down the lock pin, pulled up the lock pin and tried to open it using the outside handle. Guess what? It worked. Reassembled everything, tested it again, so far so good.
My assumption is that something prevented the door handle to disengage the lock latch. In hindsight, I should have started by remove the outside door handle and reassemble it to see if it would have solved the issue. The door handles were wrapped white by the previous owner and maybe they didn't reassemble it correctly.
