I took my 2012 ML 350 in for an oil change today and of course they suggested changing out the air filters. For two of part # 49382470, they quoted a "deal" at $300 for each of the two required filters.
I did a quick check online and it looks like I should be able to find them for around $200 each. I'd be grateful if someone could confirm the best places from which to order. Also, are these easy enough to install?

+1 for what the user BlackML550 suggested (FCP Euro). Rockauto also has them. That's where I get them.

Your link is for cabin filters. I think OP is talking about the engine air filters. They're different.Originally Posted by BlackML550

I think OP is talking about this (Rockauto):
https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...ir+filter,6192
Or this from FCP Euro (scroll down the page):

OP can confirm though...

ah yes so it was. They're even cheaper compared to the Stealer. Pretty sure the MB service manangers are trained to screw people. $300 is outrageous. Proper link belowOriginally Posted by Potrice

Yes, thank you. I am referring to the engine air filters. Apologies for not being more clear in my original post. Originally Posted by Potrice

Also, the guys who did the oil change said there is a sensor on the air filters. What were they talking about? I know these guys so they weren't trying to screw me over (my wife was the one who brought the car in for service).

The air filters on the diesel are a PITA to change, the passenger side in particular. I've found that leaving the screws loosely in the filter cover is helpful in putting things back together; trying to put the screws into a cover that is already set in place was not an easy task.

Are we talking Gas or diesel for this car? Earlier post doesn't specify.
