I recently flew down to TX to look at a ML400 that was being sold by a private seller. Risky? Sure but the seller gave me a good feeling and they were very transparent and provided a great maintenance log with all work done by the MB dealership. Car has 70k miles but has had spark plugs done, transmission fluid replaced, all three diff fluids replaced twice (30k and 60k), regular oil changes and brake fluid flushes every couple years.
The ML is in fantastic condition, just fantastic and wonderfully maintained! It has the unicorn spec for me which was silver or black exterior, heated steering wheel, rear heated seats, aircon seats, moon roof, HID headlights and the AMG styled bodykit with the 20” AMG wheels. There are other goodies that go along with the ML400 trim and other extras like park assist, etc.
It is currently en route to be delivered to my house, hopefully all goes well and I can enjoy this for many years!
Nice specs! What did you pay? I found my "unicorn" 2015 ML400 2+ years ago in Nebraska and bought it based on this video the salesman sent me, but it similarly had excellent service records and CarFax. Mine had 86,000 miles and was $25,000. No heated rear seats in mine but otherwise similarly equipped.

Congrats! One of the good ones, and nicely optioned. Love the silver. Enjoy!
That is a very clean example, the white is timeless!
I bought mine for $16,750 from a private seller, an additional $1,000 to have it shipped home and probably another $1,000 I will have to pay in taxes once I get it registered. So all in all right around $19k. But the car market is definitely softening compared to 2 years ago.
Update: It arrived this morning all in good order. I will post more pictures once it is detailed up to my satisfaction. The grey leather seats are a bit dirty from years of use. Some leatherique will clean it up just fine!

I think the value of the model is obviously less than 2 years ago too. Your price looks good against this random search result in my area:
When I found mine I had been looking for it for a while, and in the fall of 2022 I noticed that post-COVID price inflation had started to soften (to use your word) at the higher end, so models I had been finding for $30,000 were now $25,000-$27,000, but my "trade", a 2006 Lexus RX330 with 150,000+ miles was still commanding a ridiculously inflated price. A used car lot owner had offered me $6800 for it six months before and would not repeat the offer, so I listed it on Craigslist for $7500 and got $7000 cash for it (about what I had paid for it 5-1/2 years before!!)

Crazy times back then! But glad the market is coming down. These machines shouldn’t cost that much even new!
Dolomite Silver Metallic. I have visited the Dolomites in NE Italy several times, and the Porsche color matches the color of the limestone mountains there, so cool!

None of the interior yet, waiting for the spring to give the leather a proper cleaning with leatherique. The leather is grey, very European!
I checked the cam sensors and the cam magnet connectors, are all oil free and dry. It seems like there is a type of silicone where the pins are coming out of (not the harness side) which may be something MB did to stop the seepage. In any case, I applied dielectric grease in the connectors just to buy some time for me to do the sacrificial connectors job in the spring.
