Another issue that I would appreciate some input on. A dash waning has been coming on for longer than I want to admit -
"PRE-SAFE Inoperative See Operator's Manual"
Shop said passenger seat belt assembly needs replacement, and I can say that the belt doesn't snug up the same way the driver's belt does. MB new part is $1161 . . . . ouch. Has anyone had this issue before, and if so, was replacement the only option? There are several companies that rebuild / repair them including:

Price is $80-150 depending on which seatbelt, and their websites are impressive. Anybody use them?
The implication seems to be that accidents cause these issues. I bought this car at 3 years and 15K miles, and otherwise there is no indication of an accident, so don't know why this would be happening.
Summer is a good time for maintenance.. source a "slightly used" unit from the junkyard: $100.
Test repairs using scanner or Xentry for self test result.

Before you replace the belt how are your batteries. The battery may start the car effortlessly but if it’s not in great shape you can get all sorts of weird **** happening. My battery was 7 years old in my 500 and I would get all sorts of messages coming up on the dash.
Scan the modules and see what comes up.
