Whats your miles at and have you added a Camshaft Solenoid Wiring Harness Protection Kit? Im still researching that and you should too as if the oil wicks up the harness into the ecu than it can cause a 10k repair.
My upper timing covers were leaking since like 2020, and I neglected the car badly. A couple months ago I did all the work on the car including the timing cover reseal and a whole lot of other stuff that should have been done years ago which I did after the cooling system failed. Currently it has 97k miles. I've always done yearly oil changes every 8-10k miles during my first 5-6 years of ownership, but after that I stopped driving the car as much so it's more like 4-6k for the last couple years. I replaced spark plugs 40k miles over the interval and the car still ran fine and I'm still on the original rotors and front pads and it drives fine surprisingly. My transmission service is also pretty overdue by 30k miles so need to get that done ASAP. I haven't gotten a camshaft solenoid wiring harness protection kit and will look into it.

2012 ML350 gas 4matic W166 241k miles

As long as you do regular maintenance on the car it will run. I have a first production w166 with 11/2011 manufacturing date. It is a gasoline 4matic. The car has been very reliable. I change oil every 10k. I change sparkplugs and all fluids including transmission at 60k. Major break downs: 1. New fuel pump at 205k, 2. New alternator at 215k, 3. All emission related sensors (6-7 in total) have been replaced 140-180k, 4. Engine and transmission mounts at 150k. I preemptively replaced all 4 struts at 220k. I figured car service cost me $3500/ year. Tires last about 50000 miles with rotation. I plan to have the car into 320k before looking at something new.
