Wheel Replacement Advice

Basically, my friend is traveling and he has a GLC 300 which he recently bought new wheels, which are Michelin 235/55/19 which he said cost him around 2.5 K so I have a ML 350 model year 2014 my ML basically has wheels which are 255/50/19 so he said if you want he can give me the wheels for free with the rims so what do you think I mean they’re both 19 after all, but like only difference is the first number will it really has that much of a difference? What do you think?

i read in some formums that a guy who has a GLE which is the same as ML has fitted wheels which are 235/55/19 and it was pretty much good so what do you think will affect anything will affect my driving I’m talking about safety smoothness everything. What do you think

thanks guys ❤️

Im not a tire expert, but my .02 would be is that i would not use tires that are meant for a smaller size SUV compared to a much bigger SUV (ML). I wouldnt gamble with the supension, ride, etc...

Your tires are 8.5% wider, his are .5% higher so not much difference. What is more impotent to look at is the offset of the rim to see how it fits in the wheel well. I switch between 17, 19, and 20" [all are within 1to2 %of being the same size] with no issues at all (off road 2track / hiway)
here a link to check thing outhttps://www.wheel-size.com/calc/?wheel1=245-75-16X7ET25&wheel2=265-75-16X7ET15&fcl=50mm&wcl=30mm&scl=50mm&sr=0mm#google_ vignette

What's the difference in weight rating of the two tires?

IIRC the model calls for the XL rating. Mount 'em up and see how they run!
