Used a Lisle Spill proof funnel and 3/8 tube running off the bleeder. Ran the car with a lot of flow from the bleeders, and very strong pull from the "neck"......when IATs come down going between 125-154. Athough I am not seeing bubbles, etc should I just keep bleeding....ran the pump for about 40 minutes, it gets a nice "swirl" going in the Funnel.

Appreciate all of the help

Update: Ran the car this AM at stoplights it would hit 140 at cruise 120-130, short burst it would drop to 105-109.....was in a drive thru line for about 10 minutes, then temps hit 170 but then quickly came down to 125-130 in about 2 miles of driving. Seems to be much better. Also going to check my IAT sensor as I noticed within a block of drivng IATs were at 87 and outside temp was 65

How do you know when the IC coolant level is good. Do you fill it till water is constantly flowing through the top where the cap is ?

I used a Lisle Spill proof funnel its worth the cost and gives you some volume to work with....I noticed that in order to get flow from the hoses you have to let them get started first. Starting them in the funnel did not work, I pulled them out and let them lay flat until fluid started flowing then put them in the funnel. The fluid will stay as a constant when full. I let the fluid circulate for about 30 miunutes; before stopping.

Aright that should help, when the fluid is at constant you know its full. When car is cold and you open the IC cap on top, do you see any coolant or not till you run the car ?

Not sure if you are referring to the cap or the Schrader valves.......with the cap there should be some but it wont be full to the top maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch down. The shraders will sometimes have coolant when off and sometimes not.

Sorry for the confusion, I am talking about the CAP, radiator cap in back of engine that connects to the inter-coolers.

+1

The issue with the system is that when very very hot, it will blow collant out of the overflow. Then when it cools it will draw air back in to the system. The "m279" has a header tank to allow for this expansion.

For the same reason, its best not to open the cap when hot, or you will introduce air into the system.

CL
by my 8 month intercooler upgrade experience
I use the pierburg 7.06754.05.0 pump
no need for resistor
I added a relay for pump always on with ignition position 2+ as the pump has a delay
I did amg reservoir upgrade
I did S600 full size intercooler radiator upgrade

If you use a high speed pump like this your system MUST be bleeded properly
EVEN WITH A PROPER VACUUM PUMP (I build my pump myself)
THIS TAKES 1 HOUR AT LEAST
if not you will get tiny bubbles everywhere and your coolant will look like a smoothy
white/blue
so forget about plastic bottles ect !
