Are the NEW/REPLACEMENT V12 COIL PACKS more reliable then the earlier ones?
Are the newer type supposedly upgraded V12 coil packs ending in part numbers 07 and 08 any more reliable then the older type?
Has anyone had them fail?

I went a different route and ordered aftermarket BWD coils from my parts supplier. I made them match my dealer cost to $749. I went this route because aftermarket coils have free lifetime warranty. If anyone else wanted to go this route I could sell them for maybe 50 above my cost. We are in very good relations with our supplier and these had an original cost of $1200!

I just got my coil and it is exactly identical to the stock coil except for a sticker. Same part number sticker though just the lightning bolt warning was different. Even the engraved Beru on the boots is the same. I can post pics but I don't think you can without hosting the pics somewhere. I may be willing to check with my supplier to see if I can offer them to other people at this price because as far as I can tell they are Beru/Temic OEM Mercedes coils. I know he gave me a break because he knew it was for my personal car but I will have to see what his cost is. BTW I just own an auto repair shop in Minneapolis so we do big volume and thats why I am getting these at such a good deal.

It's I'd good to know that there is an alternative place to get them apart from a Mercedes dealer. Although I am based in Ireland so not sure if I could get them here
