Intercoolers Coolant circulation question need advice please
Hi I was wondering if these (m275) intercoolers use same coolant that engine uses. I mean water that circulates in intercoolers comes through engine? Or intercoolers have their own different coolant circulation circuit?

The charge coolers have a separate circuit to the engine coolant, but they use the same mixture of water and anti-freeze.
However, the IC coolant is short on flow, and antifreeze is more viscous than water, so high concentrations reduce flow.
Antifreeze solution also froths easily, unlike water.
Antifreeze also has lower thermal capacity than water.
For all those reasons, I would use the lowest safe antifreeze concentration. Whereas you might use 50/50 in the engine, I'd use 25% antifreeze in the IC system. Depends on your climate of course.

I want to put the coolers and pumps into "Parallel" as you advised but am having difficulty understand what would be the difference as to putting them in "series", wouldn't it just be the same and easier to go "series"?

the actual 2 pumps I have being the Bosch 010 and two IC heat exchangers , would it make a difference if you put them into series (i.e one leading to the other) or in parallel (two lines running from inlet to outlet to each pump/heat exchanger individually)

So if water is gonna pass threw 1 HE and then in another its gonna cool more , if you put it in parallel water will be cooled faster , but i am not an expert just my opinion is your bosch 010 pump pumps more than johnson cm30? I would buy 1 johnson cm30 pump 1 BIG HE , and I would remove all the plumbing with intercoolers from car ,wrap around heat sheild around water lines and intercoolers it is a automotive sticky heat sheild material, and then add a snow performance water meth for more cooling . no need to complicate things like that i think this mod is gonna work best and very easy to do. This is what I am going to do with myCL600 w216

MAXIMUM IAT COOLING
What needs to be determined is whether the pump Bosch 010 is moving fluid around quick enough (creating sufficient flow) if so putting the equipment into series would do what you said "more cooling power", but if the pump was not sufficient in its flow rate, putting the setup in series would be useless, going with the "parallel" would be better (creating more volume of cooled fluid)

2) put all the intercooler system water tubes into heat insulation sleeves (see the photos attached)
3) Stick adhesive heat insulation on to the intercoolers
4) install heat exchanger into series 1 water is gonna pass trew OEM HE. wich seats back of BIG aftermarket one so first water will be cooled in oem HE. and then in Aftermarket bigger HE and then its gonna pass threw intecoolers.
5) For maximum water flow install Johnson CM90 or CM30
6) On the big after market HE. intall heatex changer fan (see the photos attached)
7) intall Killer chiller ( this unit cools intercooler water using car AC freon this is a MUST. ) and add Snow Performance water methanol kit and install the nozzle before the thortle body and after the intercoolers . RUN 50/50 mix
If you will do so you will have the lowest IAT temps then any other 65 AMG engine

OK bro now listen If you want maximum air charge Cooling For your SL65 AMG V12 engine here what you are gonna do
1) remove intercoolers , heat exchanger , pump and all this system's water lines
2) put all the intercooler system water tubes into heat insulation sleeves (see the photos attached)
3) Stick adhesive heat insulation on to the intercoolers
4) install heat exchanger into series 1 water is gonna pass trew OEM HE. wich seats back of BIG aftermarket one so first water will be cooled in oem HE. and then in Aftermarket bigger HE and then its gonna pass threw intecoolers.

On EMP pump inlet hole is that in the middle and the side hole is outlet I think BOSCH 010 and every other pump should be the same inlet outlet holes wise Buy EMP pump from ebay and use your bosch 010 for trunk ice tank
I looked on ebay and 2.5 Gal ice tank is $100 and I also found EMP WP29 for $175 pretty good deal Im gonna buy 1 soon U will have good setup for cooling Im gonna use dry ice for ice tank

Witch one of these Heat Exchangers will Cool IC coolant more what do you guys think??
