Hi, my 2007 S600 has misfires on cylinders 1,3,5 so it looks like ignition cassette. But the cassette was changed together with the plugs 4 years ago and has low mileage on it (voltage transformer has also recently been changed) One of the additional symptoms is that occasionally when the engine is started up, it fails to rev above the idle regardless of how hard the accelerator is pressed. The car just refuses to move at all.
Is it possible that a computer disables power/revs due to misfires caused only by the cassette?
Or is it impossible and there is some other problem at play? DAS/Star shows no other errors of any type. I've been looking at all of the actual values of everything I could find (including the throttle body parameters) and they all appear fine. There may also be a small valve cover gasket oil leak, if it matters (not enough to drip under the car). Thanks!
