Misfires in 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12.
Prior owner replaced plugs, plug tubes/seals, and both ignition coil packs within the last 5,000 miles. My troubleshooting and research suggests voltage transformer.
Please let me know if renting one from v12cpack.com is the best way to move forward.
Thank you.

Swapped the voltage transformer with a MB reman unit - v12ci.com is out of upgraded units and is apparently going to release an all new, redesigned part.
This one was $500 shipped from Husker Benz in Lincoln, NE.
I see a fair amount of bubbling, is that enough to be sure it was my issue?

Absolutely, that is a problem. There's no such thing as "an acceptable amount of melting" when it comes to electronic components, ESPECIALLY capacitors (that is a capacitor).
Interesting that v12icpack.com is coming out with a redesigned/improved version - thanks for passing on that information.

remove the black top and plastic and look at my pictures on the one I repaired
the top on the failing one is no longer flat

anyone who is willing to participate PM me

I put my spare one in parts to make a clear print of the device
I am of course running the other one I repaired RUNS GREAT
So I would need one or two more
1 to confirm the problem I found is what happens most of the time, I am pretty sure it is
so everybody willing.... yes I would be very happy
posting on my charge of course
then I could finish this project
Donors will get a mention of course
