Question Is ANYBODY still making/selling improved m275 engine mounts?

Hey y'all,

I've been searching high and low for a billet/poly/NOT-stock set of mounts for my engine, since they're going to get chewed up in short order if I replace with OEM. (LSD incoming, and heavy foot)

Seems like there were 2-3 vendors selling aftermarket mounts up until 2019-2020ish, which doesn't help me in the least.

Is there anybody that still has or is selling a set of aftermarket m275 engine mounts?

I fixed the 221 S-65’s appetite for engine mounts (annually) by replacing it with a 222 S-65 that hasn’t needed engine mounts yet.

That's one way to go about it! I just checked the design of those mounts out, and they're somewhat similar to the engine mounts on early 90's 350 chevrolet trucks. Much more effective than what is effectively a balloon filled with hydraulic fluid with two mounting points on either side, lol.

I got to replace mounts for my 275 powered car annually.

Easy to do with some practice.

I suppose that'll be my life until I figure something else out... Just changed out a valve cover gasket and these engines are considerably tighter in the engine bay than the m113k. If it's about like an m113k engine mount it'll be tolerable - fingers crossed.

It’s worse than the 113K. Have to let the subframe hang from the suspension arms while supporting the engine. Pry bars and colorful language will all be included in the procedure. Having a muscle bound assistant may come in handy. I do the job on a hoist, use a transmission jack and a pair of screw jacks. Takes me 2-3 hours. The E-55 took 40 minutes or so.

I've been thinking about this post, and looked up the engine mount and engine mount bracket to compare to the w215 65.... Engine mount bracket appears to use the exact same mounting hole locations on the m277 (and ergo m279) as the m275 engine (not too surprising I suppose).... The mounts themselves also both mount with a single bolt. Might order a used bracket from both and compare dimensions.

If anyone is interested, here is the bracket part number and mount part number for the left side of an m277/m279: 2792230204 and 2222403300.

I may just limit travel on the left side engine mount with some kevlar strapping in an attempt to increase longevity in the meantime.

I recall the goo filled mounts for my 221 S-65 having some manner of strap wrapped around it that looked to be an effort at limiting travel. The failure was always to a sagging goo leaking mount. Annually.

Yeah, not something I'm looking forward to... Maybe I'll blow the goop out of the new (uninstalled) OEM mounts with my AC flush bottle filled with solvent, and re-fill with 60 shore polyurethane. Will update if so.
