Had a lovely coolant hose blow on the back of the engine while driving today. I cannot find it in any mercedes illustration, but it runs from the right cylinder bank to the left side of the car, located right above the transmission bellhousing. I have found an image of the hose as-is on the back of an engine auction image image- any clues? I've looked at MB rad/cooling/heater core hoses, all with no success.
Couldn't stop thinking about this, so I crawled on top of the engine with a mirror on a stick... Part number 2208325094! Attaches to the heater core junction thing (plastic, ew) at the faux-firewall fiber barrier thing. Might as well flush and replace that before it breaks as well.
You are correct, I found it there after finding the part number... Unfortunately the diagram as a standalone gives little reference to how hoses connect to the engine or anything not explicitly involved with cabin heating or cooling.
maybe the plastic y-pipe that hose connects to, it penetrates to the other side of the fiber separator behind the engine... I don't trust plastic after it's about 20. Replace your expansion tank too. I've seen a few crack and blow all the coolant out.
