Description:
Sadly, one of my favorite cars has fallen victim to my "Rule of 5" (if the battery is dead five times when I go to drive a car, I sell it).
So, with much a heavy heart, my low mileage, super well kept, fully documented CL65 is up for sale. Recent work includes: the only CL65 bumper cover in the entire United States (done to eliminate the ugly front license plate), repair of the self closing mechanism on the driver's side door, new Michelin PS4 tires (with less than 500 miles on them). Coils were done within the past 3,000 miles and the car is running well, as it should. Paint is in excellent condition as it has been cared for by a high end detailer (corrected as needed, and ceramic coated - only Optimum products are used). Leather throughout appears new with the only wear being the typically tacky texture at the headlamp switch. The car needs nothing with the only flaw being pixilation on the infotainment screen (which I didn't realize was a defect until I purchased a SL55 of the same era).
The car was acquired from an avid Mercedes V12 collector with 29,500 miles on the clock. During my two year stewardship, I amassed roughly 1,500 miles.
You absolutely will not find a better kept, more loved car of this generation for sale. I'm sad to see her go, but I just don't drive the car, which is worse than selling.
Please feel free to inquire with questions about the car or for additional pictures. It's easiest to reach me at: properhistorics@gmail.com

I'm curious what is the reserve? I heard BaT really put some pressure on sellers and force them to lower reserve prices...

Make tons of photos and lots of videos BEFOREHAND and be proactive there during 7 day period and especially on the last day of the auction. Sometimes I see sellers literally disappear from their own lots and reply very slow and even in the end not all questions are answered.
Yeah, the nature of BaT requires babysitting but if you could prepare then you don't have to desperately making requested photos and videos. Usual set of photos + underbody photos + 3 videos like cold start , driving and walkaround is more than enough. I'd do a separate walkaround video for exterior and interior and probably another one for underbody.
I know Bruce was doing magic there. I think sometimes he was able to squeeze extra grand where it looked impossible to do so. Maybe it's because of him people still jumping on these cars like if they were free breakfast cakes in a hotel...
It doesn't make sense to me but I would say 90% of cars re-sold there do not reach the same price they reached originally.
There have been exceptions but that has been the rule of thumb so far.
BaT is a gamble. I hope this beauty finds a home soon.
Here's an example I came across today: 2009 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti, was listed 10 months ago and did not meet reserve at $91k. This time around it pulled $97.5k. So that worked out great for the seller. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-scaglietti-2/
This car has twice more miles and accident history:
