Maybach 62 - 360 000 Euro with standard options list.
Price is in Germany, without customs taxes.
Options list is here - Options for Maybach .

The interior has a distint S Class feel to it.The instruments and the layout are all very similar, but the creature comforts and room are certainly a step beyond.
I wonder what the difference in length and legroom would be between the long wheelbase S and the short wheelbase Maybach?
P.S One complaint, I don't really like the drilled alloy pedals,as I feel it makes the car look too "sports racer" and it is clearly anything but.

Sorry , but this car is uglier than the new BMW 7 series, if that's possible . Their rear ends are almost identically bizarre with the stacked trunk lids. The side is trying to duplicate a Rolls from the 50s from the lines to the two tone paint The front grill and face looks like it came directly from the Hyundai XG350L sedan( see www.hyundaiUSA.com if you don't believe me ).The headlights are overdesigned and too bug-eyed and overwhelm even that ugly grill. Though the interior is nice, it looks too much like an S-class with better grade of materials only.
It was designed by a Japanese for MBZ 10 years ago and it shows the typical Japanese effort to paste different symbols of Western iconic luxury in an incongruent fashion - and the German supervisory board went for it ! Remember , this car was being finalized as 23 year old centamillionaire dot-commers with "companies" with no profits and no accountants were being minted every hour back in 1999. They thought they could sell all they could make then.
Building this car is known in the bizz as " adding value"- sorta like taking a $15K Ford F-150 pick-up and turning it into a $60K Lincoln Navigator for $15K cost difference to build . Daimler Chrysler should best take each $400,000 and run as fast as it can to it's bank to deposit it !
( The Ferrari Enzo and the new 2003 Dodge Viper, both icons of their respective countries were also done by native Japanese to better effct, though they have been criticized as clinical and not passionate )
