Chappy - this may be a rhetorical question...but, do you have the need for speed? LOL

I read about this the other day.. I'm happy to see that they're doing something about not being the fastest during practice

Practice and testing speed doesn't mean anything, and anyone who knows motorsports knows that. How much fuel were the other cars running? What spec was the engine? What tires, on and on......

I like what Ron Dennis said back in '90: Ferrari won the winter championship, we want to win the real championship!

you make a very good point, but you cant deny the fact that the engine has been causing a lot of problems during the testing... hopefully with this new engine, they have worked on those small reliability problems also

Kimi's engines blowing up = BIG reliability problems. I noticed were they tested the new V-8 and a restricted V-10 yesterday. The restricted V-10 had a faster pace than the new V-8! Hopefully the V-8 can catch up or I can see them running with old restricted V-10's this year.

The new Cosworth is looking STRONG. 21,000 RPM in their V-8. Williams may be on to something

Interesting. Until I read the rules again, I thought all teams would be required to use V8s...

"Engines
For 2006, engines are reduced in size from the previous 3-litre V10s to 2.4-litre V8s. The aim is to reduce costs and improve safety. With similar engine speeds, the change is expected to cut peak power by around 200bhp, which in turn is likely to add around three to five seconds to lap times at most circuits. The FIA may allow some teams to use 2005-spec V10s if they do not have access to competitive V8. The FIA will enforce a rev limit on any V10s to ensure performance is comparable with that of a V8."

(emphasis added)

I wonder who decides what is or is not a "competitive V8"?
