McLaren Spanish GP Practice
[12/05/06 - 17:19]
Limited running for Raikkonen and Montoya
Spanish GP - McLaren Mercedes - Practice
Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya finished today's second free practice session in 15th and 18th position respectively.
As planned, Raikkonen did not complete a lap in the first session this morning, whilst Montoya completed just one installation lap. In the second session Raikkonen completed four laps and Montoya five.
Kimi Raikkonen
"Following my regular meeting with the engineers yesterday we decided that it would not be necessary to run in the first session this morning. I was scheduled to complete two timed laps this afternoon which I did. So an easy and trouble-free start to the weekend."
Juan Pablo Montoya
"I merely did an installation lap with my new engine this morning and then a short run this afternoon to evaluate our options for the weekend. My left mirror came loose and I had to pull it off, but no problem. So far so good, and I look forward to the rest of the weekend."
Ron Dennis
"The Barcelona circuit is well known to the team and drivers from testing and as a result our pre-planned programme was very limited today. We achieved everything that we intended and look forward to tomorrow's practice where we will do more running."
Norbert Haug
"As planned we ran the minimum programme. After having saved engine life and tyres today we will learn more tomorrow."

i'm not sure about why they are all leaving, but i think adrian newey left because of some tension between him and ron dennis after the 2004 season... newey wanted to leave but he was still under contract... and i guess the rest just followed newey

LMAO !!!! Yup it would have been a wonderfull race!! Seeing fonzi 2nd at home! Oh well i had a gut feeling Fishi was going to hold up everyone and the result was going to be this. Although i expected the Macas in 5-6...Maca is doing horrible
Monaco is next, those Renaults have very good traction at low speeds. Hopefully they will lose it like they did last year ! Of course with 1-2 Ferrari 3-4 Macas 5-6 Williams

Yeah, just a poor poor race. Coverage was blah. In fact, what bothered me most was watching Alonso over and over out front by himself. How fun is that? Rather boring if you ask me. In fact, when Ralf went for the pass against Trulli, I was saying to myself, finally we get a pass. Right before the corner guess who they went back to? Alonso. Worse, the girl that saw the race with me has now put Fernando on her Top 5. Blech....
