Briatore out as Renault admit charge

I can't say that I blame Nelson for exposing those too but I do blame him for executing their order and for waiting for nearly a year keeping quiet as long as he had a contract and then bring this up.

Why are there so many people in the world who can't just compete honestly. In sport or business. Is that how this guy got to be a billionaire by screwing everybody along the way.

things with and without wheels
I wonder who is going to hire Piquet after not being able to save his job due to his driving skills or not keeping his mouth shut.

I bet one could make an interesting soap opera using F1 and it's cast.

Piquet was put in an impossible position by not doing it he would have lost his job and obviously by doing it it made him even more useless. Grosjean doesn't seem to be doing any better and he is a good driver as well. At the end of the day Renault has a crappy car with a crappy engine and Alonso is doing a suporb job driving it.

Well Flav and anyone else involved in this is in deep $#!^. Nelson got immunity from the FIA to provide testimony. This ought to be interesting!

In McLaren's case, the info they got was used by a number a people in the team. If Alonso and Pedro De La Rosa were discussing the brake system and gas used by Ferrari to inflate their tires one can only imagine what the engineers must have been doing!! If you remember all the teams previously using Michelin tires were having problems with them except McLaren! Is it possible that the designs they got from Ferrari and the 330 some messages and phone calls exchanged with Nigel Stephney played a role in that? I think so!! Plus in the beginning of 2008, McLaren released an official statement admitting that Ferrari data were penetrated deeper in their design and changed a certain part of their car in exchange for FIA not to do a comprehensive investigation of their 2008 design. Thinking that teams at that time were spending about 500million/year in total expenditures and by doing well in the championship they were getting close to 100million in revenue. Knowing that the advantage they got may have been the reason that they were so competitive, I don't think that the 100mill fine was a bad call.

In Renault's case, they were only 3 people involved, I don't think that some 600 employees of the race team who knew nothing about it should have lost their jobs and also risking to loose Renault, a manufacturer that has been participating in the sport since its early days because of the actions of 3 people! Furthermore, the incident didn't enable them to have an unfair advantage from the other teams for any other races except that particular one so I don't think they should had fined them anything more than the revenue they collected by winning the race.

I don't think they will leave McLaren, they have a contract with them up to 2011. They will probably have stake in both teams.

To be honest with you, McLaren did a lot of embarrassing things during the last couple of years. Brawn is not a bad team to own at all, they seem to be playing a fair game so far. Right now they have both drivers competing for the championship and there are no conflicts between them as McLaren did in 2007.

Flavio got what he deserved, but a lifetime ban may not be enforceable. He will sue the fia and negotiate a reduced sentence as this effects him with his soccer team also.
Pat Symopnds the other team official involved in this took his lumps and left, he will never return.
Piquet is now unemployable as he has admitted to cheating to keep his seat. Regardless of the pressure he was under he is damaged goods.
Alonso is hip deep in this just like the Mclaren affair. He tried to blackmail Mclaren for #1 status in the team when a rookie was spanking him and when he tried Mclaren turned the info over to the FIA, then got fined for doing the right thing. Alonso is now at Ferrari and watch, within 2 years he will be in the moiddle of a huge scandal.
You overate Alonso, He won his 2 wdc's with a car that was the class of the field, When challenged with a driver and car of equal value, he crumbles. Ferrari got rid of Kimi because he wouldnt kneel down to a lesser position within the team and I think you will find that Massa isnt going to take his arrogance either.
Next year will be interesting as I believe Brawn has already peaked as a team. It will be wide open again next year.
