Low Beam Is really Dark on E500
Our E500 03 on low beam is really low illumination and difficult driving at night
. On high beam they clearly are bright and I can easily see. The car is box stock but the lights just aren't bright enough. Is there any solution to this issue short of putting a "truck Light bar on top". vettdvr

Try using your fog lights when driving. I had the same impression and that helped. I had wanted the Xenon's on this when I purchased but had to make a sacrifice or wait 4 months.

I've tried turning all the lights on but low beam is almost like no lights. Xenon? Never thought of those,, will they retrofit and do they make a difference. vettdvr

Xenon retrofits are usually half assed as its not financially practial to fit the leveling sensors and, that makes them illegal is some states. I have Xenons on my 06 ML500 and they are excellent. One thing I would try though is to have the dealer aim the low beams as high as they can. That helped mine also. No question about it, my next E will have the Xenons. Worst headlights I have ever had are on my Vette but then its 46 years old (have had it since new).

I replaced my OEM's with the Slyvannia version and although they did provide more light, the bulbs didn't last long (6 months for one, 9 months for the other). Hoen and PIAA also make some good bulbs.
