97 e320 oil filter

could somebody let me know where the oil filter is located in my 97 e320... I cant seem to find it.. thanks

Don't all the E320's have the oil filter in the same place for the 3.2L engine? If so, face the engine and look to your right at the front, top of the engine. There's a black plastic canister that looks like a conventional oil filter mounted upside down. The oil filter is inside of that canister. Do not exceed 25Nm of torque when tighting down the canister.

No problem -- look at that great picture that Kent posted. That cylindrical object that appears to have an orange dot on top is the oil filter canister.

Not mean to hijack the thread, but since looking at the nice picture, I an curious if anyone would know:
Which bolt needs to be turned in order to rotate the torque converter (so you can get to its drain plug) for changing transmission oil?

Jeffery ,, Is there a torque converter drain plug? Ford dropped the plug in 2001. MB doesn't reco change oil there might not be a plug. Hope there is,, haven't done wife's yet,, not enough mileage. Jim

I think there's a torque converter plug on a pre-2000 car. Please someone correct me, I think it's been posted before but in your case, you wouldn't have one.

No drain plugs, never heard of any mercs post 95 having one!
