W210 frequent suspension component replacement?

My W210 wagon with 45k miles just needed a driver's side ball joint (still under warranty for another month), and front sway bar links (again - ?!). My question: given the lousy roads of the northeast, can I expect a steady diet of control arms, tie rods, ball joints, etc? Was the ball joint a fluke, or typical?

Thanks,
John

I've got 50K on my E430 with no suspension issues whatsoever. I live in SE Virginia where the roads are a mess.

I'll trade you roads for the south Louisiana After Katrina roads. I dont' think New Orleans has roads just test tracks.

Our E500 at 56k has no issues,, front end or others. Jim

well i can tell you it is slow right now a the dealers with work. so if they are just a little loose they might have changed it just to make some money. not saying they wernt bad but just bad enough to where they could change them. the main thing i see on the 210 chassie is the ft lower control arm bushings.

I work at an MB dealer in Vancouver, Canada and can tell you I change those type of ball joints all the time, they are just poorly designed. As for control arms I have replaced many of the inner bushings on 210s but the cars usually had 100 + km on them.
