Check Coolant Malfunction?

My 2003 C32 is giving me the error check coolant. The coolant is at the normal level. Could this be the sensor on the bottom of the remote coolant tank gone bad?

Thanks

Check the windshield washer resevoir....it and the coolant sensor are on the same circuit and sometimes one trips the other.

Just thought of this....I was having the same problem until I checked the book to see what the "normal level" should be.The book says fill it until the level reaches the bottom of the black plastic reservoir top.

are you getting a low washerfluid level warning message as well? if so you probably have a bad washerfluid sensor tripping both warning message. they are pretty common.

No, just the coolant. I am assuming the sensor must be bad in the resevoir tank.

Does any one know if the collant will run out when the sensor is pulled?

Thanks

Are you getting the "check coolant level" alert or the one that says "Coolant! visit workshop!". I get that second one and i'm not sure why. Reservoir is full and the car doesn't overheat? Anyone have any insight. I did check my Washer level BTW.

It may be the coolant level sensor going bad but I've seen more often thatn not that the engine cooling fan gos intermitantly opercircuit (controlunit is part of the fan).

The only solution to the later problem is to replace the fan assembly.

The waser bottle level switch was only related to the coolant light on pre W203 models

The low coolant light will come on if your electric fan control unit is
malfunctioning.
