Dead C Class 203

hi could someone please help me. c200k ignition key is dead wouldnt activate central locking / alarm or turn in ignition purchased new key today from mb but still have the same problem battery is ok fuses seem ok but still not working, been told it is probally a faulty ignition switch but surely the alarm /central locking would still activate?

Remote unlocking is authorized by the ignition switch-which is why if it is faulty the remote will not unlock/lock the vehicle. Double check ALL of the fuses. The ignition is a dealer only repair, so if it is that it will need to go to a dealer.

didnt learn to vehicle, mb told me key was ordered to chassis no and would just work . if it has to be programmed to match car could you please tell me how as my owners handbook doesnt mention anything about it. thanks

I went through several keys and never did anything other than just use them.

all you have to do is put the key in the ignition, could take up to 3 hours or just minutes , there are rolling codes that have to match up

How do you know when it's done? Up to 3 hours

its got a mind of its own, now ignition has come on on its own and i have been able to shift out of park but key still does nothing also cooling fan keeps starting and stopping only became aware of this when a nieghbour walking past nocked door to tell me car was lit up, anyone experienced any thing like this plkease help

Have you checked that there are no water leaks that would make one of the SAMs confused? It could be at the trunk, engine bay or even at the interior. I did not check where you car would have those placed.
