I don't know if this would help to diagnose your (or other people's) problem. But I too am having intermittent trouble with my key not turning (no spare to check it out since I bought the car used with only one key). It seems that the diode kazuya has mentioned sometimes get loose. After I expose the circuitry, and press on the diode, the key works fine again. I wanted to solder it but am afraid I will damage the key. Maybe after I get an additional one...

sigh!!!!
