Ecu??

Can a ecu from a W208(CLK) can be used on a W230(SL55 AMG)?.
My 2005 SL55AMG ecu was lost by Fed Ex and the tuner replaced the ecu but with one from a W208. Now the car don't start after multiple attempts and cleaning the contact/plugs with contact cleaner.

The car just starts and rapildly dies, able to do it no more than 3 times and then unable to try again starting the car for at least 4-5 minutes later.

BTW: batteries, fuses are OK and car has 1/4 gas in the tank.
Thanks.

Any AMG Thats Around..
wow.... it should not work.... did he reprogram your VIN into it? All ECU's are vin They talk to the EIS (ignition module)... if its not properly coded it wont start... now about how it runs after its started with a 208 ecu is another story...

Not only are the VIN's programmed into the ECU.......a W208 is a N/A engine and the R230 is a kompressor engine.........very different ECU

It's like trying to plug a square peg into a round hole...like everyone says it shouldn't work. What is FedEx doing to rectify the situation? A car without an ECU these days is a pretty heavy paper weight...

What really happen, the tuner supposedly gave my ecu package to Fed Ex and package was not scanned properly. Now my SL 55 ecu is long gone, Fed Ex just says they never receive the ecu and are not responsible for supposedly for a given package. The tuner got a W208 ecu and did reprogram it, however as stated above the ecu is not good for my car. Now I'm stuck with a car with ecu and already paid for the ecu re-program/update.
I had many ecu from other car sent t the US for upgrading and NEVER had a problem like this one. I will return today the ecu to the tuner and will keep you posted on what will happen.

Now my question is who's telling the truth Fed Ex or tuner?.

Anything worth that much sent by post or courier should be barcoded, signed for and insured. If the tuner doesn't have a reciept number or tracking number then the responsibility lies with them. I hope this is a reputable tuner?
Best not to mention who until the matter is resolved

I did sent the ecu back last week to the tuner and was check by them. I got back the ecu from the tuner today, all connector were cleaned and ecu was connected. Well, the same problem happen again, car starts and rapidly dies, after 3 attempts of trying to start the car the system shoot down and unable to try to start the car again(Inmobilzer?). I did call the tuner and waiting for an answer?.

Here'a picture from the cu sent by the tuner.
Does this ecu part # is A113 153 62 79 can be used on a SL55 AMG?.
Anyone from here knows from what car this ecu belongs(model, W...?).
Any input appreciated.

I had been searching in the net for many hours and found that the ecu sent by the tuner apparently can be use in the W230.

Here's a link from a seller at ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.es/MERCEDES-BENZ-SL-...1%7C240%3A1318

Item number: 250313202397

At this moment the tuner haven't reply my messages or answer what is the next step. Doesn't look good what is going on.

How have you paid them? Credit card? If it is CC, then I would dispute this whole purchase.
