my friend, you'll save more time and money by going to your local walmart and getting it done.
it's an 81, there's nothing special about it. any local lube shop will do it for you for cheap. you can even find coupons.

DO not do this. The job is simple, but there are many ways in which it can be done improperly and cause a lot of damage. Those idiots have no idea how much torque goes on anything and which washers need to be replaced, etc.

Also, use good oil, Valvoline syn or M1 are very good. 0w-40, 5w-40, are the proper weights.

Has the timing chain been done, if not, it should be ASAP.

Your car is designed to have the engine oil removed via the dipstick tube.

You'll need a tool for this.

Exactly, do not go to Walmart of Jiffy lube for your oil change. It is only asking for trouble. If you don't want to do it yourself find a independant Mercedes shop and have them do it.

After filling the engine with oil, crank it over for several seconds before starting it up. If you start it without building up oil pressure the timing chain can slap/come off/slip a tooth. $$
