Adding heated seats option

Hey techs, my 03 clk did not come with the heated seats. I wanted to know what the procedure is for adding heated seats option in my car? Do i have to buy new seats that have the heated system already in them? Or i can just buy a some kind of modulator or something and the new faceplate with the heated seats buttons? Any help is greatly appreciated. thank you

"New seat upholstery" means just that, the seat covers if you will. Not the whole seat.

I looked into this a while back for a W202 and the cost was nearly $2K USD just for parts & covers.

One CAN add the heat pads without replacing the whole seat cover
Use a 202 heat pad... It will work great and save you a lot!

hmmm seems like i will have to hunt down some w202 heat pads.

Thanks for your comments mark, do you know if the wire harness can be purchased from the dealer for a low cost and does it have to be the w209 wire harness or it has to be the w202 harness?
