ABS/BAS/ESP ON MY 2000 E55..WHATS THE DEAL?
ABS/BAS/ESP ON MY 2000 E55 W/ 104K MILES, POPPED UP.. IT HAPPENED BEFORE BUT, WAS ABLE TO GET RID OF IT , BUT NOW. ITS WORSE. NOW ONCE IT POPS..THE CAR DRIVES DIFFERENT, IT DOES NOT SHIFT, THE MILEAGE STOPS, THE SPEEDOMETER STOPS WORKING. .. WHATS THE CAUSE?.. HOW CAN I FIX THIS. I'VE BEEN READING THREADS HERE, BUT SOME DONT WORK.. WHERE IS THE BRAKE SWITCH LOCATED AT?.. THATS ANOTHER OPTION I WOULD LIKE TO TRY, I COULD EITHER TRY CLEANING IT, OR REPLACING IT. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!

Could be any number of things, what codes do you have?
Could be the wheels.
Brake switch is located behind the brake pedal, removed the dash underpanel.

As Gullwing said, there are a number of things that can cause the warning lights. Bad brake switch is often the cause. Do the lights come up right after you start the car or after you press the brake pedal?
Have you disconnected the battery lately? If yes, you need to re-sync them by turning fully to the left and then fully to the right. Instruction should be in your owner's manual.
How old is the battery? The system requires a threshold (minimum) voltage and if your battery drops below that voltage, the lights will come on.

I JUST REMEMBERED.. WHEN I CHANGED REAR TIRES LAST TIME..I STARTED GETTING THAT ABS/ESP/BAS CODES.. BUT NOT AS BAD THOUGH.. AND IT WENT AWAY.. THEN IOVER INFLATED ONE REAR TIRE BECAUSE IT HAD A SLOW LEAK, IT POPPED AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME EVERYTHING WAS JUST NOT WORKING RIGHT.. SO I NEED TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH PROPER TIRES.. AND WELL SEE HOW IT GOES.. LET YOU KNOW.. I JUST HOPE ITS THE TIRES.. IM RUNNING WITH 235 35 19 FRONTS AND 245 45 19.. NOT MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE BUT WHEN ONE REAR TIRES IS OVER INFLATED, THE BALANCE, THE SPIN, IS THROWING THE CAR OFF...

This may seem funny but i have seen it before a couple of times at work.
we have had a couple of car's in the past that we couldnt get rid of a bas/esp warrning....... long story short the headlamp switch fixed the problem. dont ask me why ,its been a while since we had one in the shop, if i rember correctly there was some obsure power source for the bas/esp system that came through the headlamp switch.

Secondly why have you fitted narrower than std wheels on the rear?
Thirdly, please turn caps lock off, it's like yelling online

My 1998 C43 has the ESP/BAS lights on along with the ABS light. These all came on when I had the MB tech use the STAR system to reset my elctronic Throttle Body idle and WOT positions. During this process the lights came on and will not go off now.
I repalced the brake switch as it seemed to be a common fix for many cars with this problem, but all the lights on the dash are still on. How often do people have problems with the Lateral Acceration Sensor?
Any more ideas from people in the know would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Jeff
