Hepl please with the front brake line

I have a CLS 55 an i'm trying find out which line from the master cylinder is for the front brakes. There are two lines connected to the front of the master cylinder, one on top and the other an inch below. Does any one know which one is for the front brakes? Thanks for your help

The master cylinder is only for backup brakes (front only), the main braking is done by the SBC pump (brake by wire). What are you trying to do?

It may sound crazy but i want to install a line lock. Are you saying that the two lines connected to the front of the master cylinder are both for the front brakes only? If so i'll need two line locks.

A Mercedes with SBC is probably one car that I wouldn't think of installing a line lock. BTW a line lock should go on the rear brakes to shut them off. A CLS55 does good burnouts as it is, I doubt that you really need a line lock.

I prefer using a line lock, it helps takes the stress off the engine, trans and brakes during a burn out. I installed line locks on two other cars i have on the front brakes. I've seen many with the line locks on the front but never the rear. My front brakes lock allowing the rear tires to spin. I thought if you install the line lock on the rear it will lock the rear brakes and won't allow the tires to spin. Thanks

You can do it either way. On the front to keep the fronts locked or on the rear to stop the rears from working. I would prefer the later.

Don't worry, the CLS55 driveline and brakes can take the stress.

You learn something new everyday. I never knew that. I still can't figure out which line is for the front brakes, the top or the bottom coming from the master cylinder. Thanks

You wont be able to fit a line lock on your car, the master cylinder doesn't do the braking unless there is a fault in the SBC system. If you fit it into the brake lines after the SBC pump it is likely to detect a fault when you use it.

SBC pump is well over $1000 plus several hours labor.
I think with a line lock the SBC pump will just freak out and set off codes, once they find the line lock...
Plus you could have issues with air in the brake system (you can bleed an SBC system several times and still have air in the system) once this happens you have noise issues (barking) among others
