Plug Gap, '02 CL500
I'm ready to install a set of Bosch 7422 plugs in my '02 CL500. Can someone tell me the proper gap? It is not on the under hood sticker. All it says there is:
"Tune UP Info: No adjustments required".

Plug gapping has been gone from German cars for decades.
Your car should be fitted only with OE plugs, which will be properly "gapped" right out of the box. They will be platinum plugs, but OE platinum have zero/zip/nada in common with Bosch platinum plugs designed for sale at KMart. All you can do to any of these plugs with a gapping tool is break them.
Even when Mercedes used conventional plugs, they came correctly gapped right out of the (Bosch) box and the factory-set gap was printed on the box. Still is for these older designs.

Out of curiosity, how do you break a spark plug by adjusting the gap? I've been adjusting gaps on spark plugs for over 50 years and maybe I'm just lucky, but I've yet to break one.

GAP
For MB plugs I check but don't set them. I have found a box that was apparently dropped with the ground electrode touching the spark tip. Had I not checked it it would probably have misfired.
So I check the gap but for damage more than opening size.

Yes, I'm sure it would have misfired as there would have been no spark to ignite the fuel mixture.
