Can i used Castrol trans oil in my 2003 e500?
i went to autozone and bought trans filter, he askd if i would like trany fluid and said you have it? Lookd it up and said if i got the 722.6 trans and i do. So I was wondering if i can used this trans oil in my benz, I called dealer and askd them if i can used carstrol and of course said they dont no?? so instead of paying $15 a quart only is $4.99 to autozone. Any one tried this??

BWT, what about the transmission pan gasket, the dipstick tool and the replacement locking pin for the cap on the fill tube. Did the Autozone guy think of those? Also, do have have the correct procedure for setting the final fluid level? It's very critical.
I would also confirm your transmission model.

go to a dealer and ask for a VMI printout
or join EPC net and run datacard on your car.
Look for a 722.6xx somewhere near the top on any of those.
