I researched the parts to rebuild the alternator, but is it a DIY project like on American cars? I have rebuilt alternators on other cars. Specifically, I want to replace the sprag bearings to eliminate the squeal on the belt and AC compressor. Thx.

Get an exchange unit and send them the core for core deposit return.
