2004 S430 strange electronic problem
Hi,
I'm new to MBWorld. I'm searching for a fix for my husband's 2004 S430. We have taken the car to three different places one MB dealership, a non MB franchise dealership and a mechanic that works only on MB and BMW. After all of that still no anwser or fix. I'm hoping maybe someone on here has an idea what's wrong and how to fix it. Thanks in advance!!
8 seconds after car is started:
Outside temperature guage will not display,
Air conditioning does not work,
Cannot adjust steering wheel setting,
Cannot adjust windshield wiper setting.
After 60 seconds, everything works fine.
From what we have been told by a couple of mechanics the diagnostic computer can't find anything since the problem only happens for the first minute the car is turned on.

can the problem be reproduced everytime the car is restarted?
how did this fault first occur was any work done on the car?
sounds like a body bus problem.

It happens every time the car is started. We have owned the car for five years and this problem started three years ago. The car has never been in an accident but did have the nav system replace the first year we had under warranty but after didn't have any problems. Of course once it was out of warranty this problem showed up and no one can figure it out.
