hey guys....i have 2012 c300 with stock rearview camera and was wondering how to turn on the guide lines using the engineering menu??? ...if someone can post which submenus i have to select that would be fantastic!!

I'll take a look and see if I can find the procedure in Xentry.

As you noticed, Mercedes removed these lines in 2011 (I believe it was) because people were hitting things then blaming Mercedes for putting lines on their rear view screen that didn't accurately work.

I never had issues using the lines on Mercedes I've driven, therefore I fault the dumbass drivers hitting things.

At any rate, I'll see if Mercedes left the option to toggle this in the engineering version of Xentry.

My mom got her ml550 and i got my c300 on the same day (both new 2013 and a good discount for getting 2 cars but her rearview camera had lines and mine didnt! I think they cheaped out on us cuz i cant find an option to turn on the lines in the settings

Haha that's funny ....I guess that's what we get for getting the low end Benz lol

There are alot of little things in the ml i wish the c300 had. In the ml, u can preset 2 buttons near the "back" and "clr" button near the dial in the center. I would set it to go to "navi" or to turn off the screen. And the lines!

You can't toggle the lines on or off in settings. Mercedes removed the lines due to liability concerns.

What the OP is talking about is if the ability exists to toggle this in the Mercedes service computer.

That would b cool to find out. Im going to the dealer anyways in the morning anyways. I should ask them. But i guess its not important/necessary.
