I have only had the car for 6months. When I bought it it had 44600 miles on it. The prievious owner only put 22000 miles on it in 6 years. Now it has 55000. Only problem I have had (knock on wood) was a transmission leak. which just required the replacement of a couple of O-rings ($600). I currently have one issue with the seatbelt extender on the drivers side, the gear is stripped and I dont want to replace the entire motor ($638.00) for a plastic gear. I am waiting on a company that makes a replacement for this plactic gear for the W126 coupe but has not finished developing it for the W140.

This is my daily driver.

Engine code I believe is 120. I would need to check some documentation I have at home to be sure.

I have never seen the engine weight listed anywhere.

I was told that the engine alone new cost $42000.00. Dont know how accurate that is.

Durability? Have never found any long term testing of this engine or car. I would like to see that information also. Everyone I talk to says that the engine should last 300,000 miles easy. But where is the proof.

The torque is good but if I wanted it to be better I found that PowerChip makes an upgraded chip that will take the engine to 420 hp and 449 ft lb torque. The cost is $840.00.

nice, i'd be careful with those mods btw, bcs you might need to make other changes so the engine/transmission can handle all that extra power...

I am not planning to make any mods like that to mine. I will save the $840.00 and put it toward my saving for an SLR

The air filter is about all I will do. Other than that I will keep it stock.

2002 E55 AMG
1992 600SEL has 402HP and 428lb-ft torque that uses the more durable 4 speed auto. Great power! I want a 7.3L AMG conversion!
