Constant Ventilation Noise / HVAC / AC / CLS 550 4matic
I have a constant noise problem coming from the driver side and passenger side vents.Although it can be heard better from the driver side.
When the car is started and the AUTO circulation is on with the AC option, it's quiet and runs fine, you just hear fans. 30 seconds into driving, you start to hear what I can only describe as air escaping through a hose that is wet. It's a trickling / seeping sound that is none stop. You can usually hear it when the furnace / AC turns on in your house, a air sucking in / slurping sound and then you would just hear your system running, but not with this.
The AC option can be on or off and you still here it if the fans are on AUTO and circulating at low speeds. At fan speeds higher that 3 you don't hear it due to the loud sound of air rushing.
My car is a CLS 550 4 Matic 2013. The dealership tells me this is normal for the CLS. I call BS, a car MSRP close to 90k and this is a standard annoying sound? I driven cheaper cars with no ventilation noise.
They said they see it on CLS models and if I can find someone that doesn't have the issue they will look into it.
I have completely looked through all of the forums to see if anyone has an issue like this that relates and can't find an exact situation. Some have mentioned bad ventilation motor, leaves stuck in the system itself and other items.
Any feedback or experiences are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Same thing, still that constant noise running with heat or cold. I also can hear it when the fans are high up, I don't think it's the fans that are causing the noise. Something in the background outside of the AC maybe.
Here are some videos I uploaded, mind you it's my phone right next to the center vents. The noise can be heard from any of the vents though.
Thanks.
Could you please check out the videos and let me know if you've ever heard this sound. If you hear it now or have a CLS with the same issue, any feedback would be great.
Thank you

However I has a 2006 CLS500 and had a sound similar to this, more of a whiny noise though, it turned it was the fan that was faulty. Sometime the bearings in the fan cease or just give so you get some weird sounds coming from it. I would think it's that because it doesn't sound like you have any heat or cooling problems and the sound goes away when you increase the fan speed, which is what the fan in my 2006 CLS500 used to do, only at low speeds would you hear it, increase the fan speed and it goes away......
