It'll be perfectly fine. You could have used KY Jelly and it would still be fine. Mercedes lube is nothing special, it just has the star on the jar.

I don't say you have to use Mercedes-Benz Gleitpaste on the sunroof but it isn't just a run of the mill lubricant. I've been using it for years to cure all kinds of lube problems that nothing else seems to fix.

Since Gleitpaste is so expensive, dealers and Independents may use something cheaper like a spray that Audi dealers use.

BTW, Gleitpaste comes in 500 g cans, but you can buy small containers of the stuff from some Internet parts outlets like Rusty Cullen's BuyMBParts.

Which is the Gleitpaste? Is it the white paste, or is it the yellowish thick glue-like substance? The lube I use for the sunroofs is the glue-like lube, I've never tried using the paste. The paste works good for stopping leather rubbing noises (squeaks).
