CLK200 ROOF STUCK HALFWAY UP.
My CLK200 roof ONLY GOES UP HALF WAY.
My local garage did noticed a oil leak at the pump which they fixed, they found a micro switch fault on the tester which replaced BUT the roof still only went up halfway, they sent it to the Mercedes dealership for a diagnostic test on there meter they have had the car for 3 days and are stumped as to what it is. They are saying that the pump could be faulty i said surely if the pump goes up half way the pump must be working ??? they told me a new pump is $12,000 AUD, I asked what if that does not fix the issue what then will you take it out oh he said i will have to ask the manager as i am not sure, my dilemma have anyone had this issue at least they will put a second hand one in but they still are not sure on what to do.
Sorry for the long story.
Any help would be appreciated.

It's sad that few factory trained dealers can be bothered to fix these cars professionally. Hang all the expensive parts and show you the door when zero improvements are made. At that point no other shop wants to take over an extreme problem car.
You can find a specialist indy shop or perhaps diagnose this yourself with a scanner and WIS documents.
These cars are very well built to feature all the same troubles. Look under your chassis forum for existing content.
I would bet one of the micro switch got moisture and stop signaling the controller module going crazy - This should return a FAULT CODE to your scanner!
