MB Fault Code U0423
Hi Folk's here's another head scratching tale, aprox 3 weeks ago when we had all that rain through out the UK we were taken our Touring Caravan up to the Brecon Beacons, on the morning of setting off i went out started the ML W164 up and the dash lit up with a giant Red battery, and also it stated the DSR was inoperative, so after a few choice words i took it for a run then noticed i had no Indicators or Wipers thinking this was strange never seen this before, anyway to cut a long story short it got better the more i drove the vehicle.
After picking up the Van from the Storage Yard and setting off we lost the Turbo after about 5 miles into the trip we then pulled over and i run the icarsoft i980 and no end of faults come up, the main one was Turbo / Actuator .i cleared all faults and again of we set, we did get to Brecon Beacons and back so then the following wk-end removed the offending Actuator stripped and repaired the unit refitted and now i am not getting any EML light or DTC Faults but when looking at the Freeze Frame data it states the fault code U0423 / Cluster control Module my question is as anyone encountered this fault themselves
Many Thank's Kevin

I have no idea, but I would start with the failed battery first. Whether the rain had anything to do with it or not, if the battery suddenly failed (as they are apt to do), that could cause all sorts of problems. How old is the battery and do you drive your car often?

no witches in this chaos
the battery was new 3Mo ago... if it's been drained by sleepless modules then it has degraded substantially.
U0423 code is misleading you to suspect a bad IC... that is a reliably built module.
At your leisure...:
1- note down faults then
2- clear all faults then
3- drive a bit before
4- scanning again then
5- provide us a complete list of translated faults including STORED transients.
We're going to try to second guess which modules are the offenders causing your battery nagging.
Do you have a float battery charger yet? These cars are built in part with LIN single-wire networking that's extremely sensitive to voltage disruptions. You need to have nominal voltage above 12.6VDC.
Proceed with reboot power cycle to temporarily resume normal processing.
