A/C and heat issue with button

When I press button to change from feet to straight on to defroster it doesn’t change. I have to run through the 8 cycles 10+ times before it actually goes to defrost window

Maybe the contact/switch underneath is getting stuck and not returning to its original position. Im not really sure how they work, but try to see if the button is just floating in there and not being fully depressed, if that makes sense. Maybe dirt, dust, wear.

The HVAC flap actuators can get lazy after some time.

You'll need a scanner or Xentry to figure which of these modules has developed poor connections.

The fix to replace faulty modules can be labor intensive ... a temporary workaround is to try to exercise them using the HVAC controls.
