Using ChatGPT to Diagnose Problems

I take laptop screenshots and send them to Google translate to figure out the German words.

That said, when side to side "computers" had a greater than 20% failure rate as compared to human eyes in gastroenterology examinations. Many criteria (with a human body) that is outside the parameters of a binary comparision by an AI system. Much akin to "how do they drive the car" as a consideration for an auto mechanic.

I am not a fan of AI, but I cannot deny that AI can be effective in solving some problems. And, I think for good or bad, it is here to stay. The genie is out! I would love to see AI used (as it probably already is) in research addressing health issues. I see now that Florida is researching the use of Ivermectin to treat certain forms of cancer. Other research is showing as Fenbendazole as a treatment for certain cancers. Interesting that they are both anti-parasitical drugs.
"Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night."
we should continue to push and prod against artificial intelligence, and let it work for us, not let it work against us, and we need to shine the light on all of the concerns and risks and potential downfalls of it before we just allow it into our worlds. Doing otherwise may be our death, actual or spiritual.

It is not "Florida" doing an research (as a government)...probably is some fine folks in Florida.

I’ve been working on building a business which I can very happily say I finally closed the raise this week and get to move forward but over the past year and a half I really haven’t slept much and my body didn’t appreciate that. Literally three hours in a row max… I had a symptom of what felt like a chemical burn on my skin after using a disinfectant spray in my house. Historically, I’ve seen this spray cause breathing issues in some people so I am very careful about how I use it, but it was as if it got on my scalp and I didn’t wash a little circle of it. Within a day that area turned into a bump on my scalp and I was like what the F. When I spoke to my partner about this and mentioned it might be shingles from what I researched she thought I was insane and was telling me to put my symptoms into ChatGPT. So I put random symptoms into ChatGPT, not mentioning any idea of what I thought it might be and the only answer it came back with was shingles.
When I went to the doctor and said hey, these are my symptoms and for what it’s worth and I know you hate this but ChatGPT told me it was shingles. The nurse kinda laughed at me and said OK. Well, we’re gonna check you for strep anyway. So I went back into the waiting area in the back and in a couple minutes, the doctor walks in and says hey I overheard what you said and you absolutely have shingles. No need for a strep test. For me, I described the symptoms exactly as they were, and there was only one answer.
I think what is most important is that anybody that uses any tools understands the limit of the value of the tool or the accuracy or precision of the tool and checks it and weighs it against other known reliable resources. Unfortunately we know on the Internet that most people believe the first thing they read and are willing to die on a hill for it.
Pertaining to this thread is that I had seen that diagnostic video posted originally and have also been watching some people that have been trying to do base tuning of their cars using AI and HP tuners with some limited success. I’ve not seen any results that are better than humans at this juncture.

It might be able to apply probability with some accuracy to large groups.
By definition, human behavior is unpredictable.
AI will never be able to mimic hunches, educated guesses, or intuition.
AI will never be able to calculate the value of pi to its last digit.
There are a lot of actions, predictions and calculations that AI will never be able to do, with the exception possibly of AI developing into positronics or some such.
Medicine is an art, and a practice. It certainly has elements of a hard science where concrete answers can be established.
But if medicine is somehow transformed to a science, it will remove the human element of relieving pain and disease, which I can’t discern as a good thing.
