instrutment replacement bulb
I'm having a heck of a time trying to find a bulb replacement for my instrutment cluster. The one I'm looking for it's the red warning bulb. I went to my dealer and they don't have those. Then I check with Phil over at Mercedesshop.com and they don't even have those.
Any idea where can I get one. It is bugging me so much I just want it get it replace.

I did bring the bulb to the dealer and they flat out said to me they do not stock nor able to order one of those. I'll try to get a picture up this weekend when i post it.

I there a cluster removal how to somewhere? I need to replace the coolant temp bulb. I can't work my hand behind it after removing the under dash panel and figure there must be an easier way. Thanks

Sorry, I meant the message display, when open the door, it shows your Odometer and time, then when you start it up, it lights up read showing your selt belt. Even if you had a parking brake on, the message lights up red displaying the parking brakes. That bulb i was talking about, there's three across that is red and another row of bulb that's three across that is clear.

I have tons of red (and clear) bulbs for instrument clusters. Get them at the dealership all the time. They are easy enough to look up in the parts system. Unfortunately they are not cheap.

Just looked it up. N 910146 000000 ... took all of what, 2 minutes? If your dealership can't do that... I would go someplace else.

p.s. those are the brighter ones.

Thanks scorchie, I got the part number just exactly like you have and already got it in today when it was ordered two days ago, they are, indeed, not cheap, 8 bucks a pop. I replaced all three of them.

cluster removal tools
To remove your cluster use 2 hooks MB part 140 589 02-33-00 for $13.53 including tax. You slide them in at the 2 and 10 o'clock postions of the cluster and slide in till you are in about 3 inches then turn the hooks inward and gently pull out until they catch the small teeth on the plastic instrument housing.Gently pull the left side forward first, then the right side.Go back and forth gently until the cluster slides out.Make sure your steering wheel is in the full out position or remove the steering wheel if you don't have the electronic telescopic wheel. You can then unplug the conectors and replace any bulbs that need replacing.
