But to be exact, I managed to get 28.6mpg and it was still climbing, I'm pretty sure it could've reached a higher mpg if I it wasn't for the fact I reached my destination. It was on a 140 mile trip, all of it using cruise control. Most of the accelerating and decelerating was done through the cruise control. The key is to minimize the use of braking and foot accelerator, proactively engaging and disengaging cruise control when you feel you'll need to brake ahead. Let the car glide to adjust to the lower speed of traffic ahead of you, then engage cruise control again. Slowly accelerate using cruise control again. Go ahead, try it, and thank me later
I wish I snapped a picture of it at the time, but here is a picture I snapped from a recent trip I took, it shows it at 27.2mpg.

I wasn't as careful with the cruise control this time, I was super excited en route to the NYC Auto show to look at the new E63 in person. The BS SL was much sicker though!!
It's funny how I never used cruise control in my C32 in the past. it used to be all about how fast I can get the speedometer to. Getting a new mpg record out of the C280 on every trip was not as much fun, but kept me entertained to say the least haha.
